Series Overview

Wizard’s Eye Expedition
Team NRS paddler Tyler Bradt – who, among other achievements  holds the world’s record for highest waterfall run in a kayak – is setting out on his biggest adventure yet. In April 2013, he leaves La Paz, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, in the 44-foot sailboat Wizard’s Eye, for a five-year-long circumnavigation of the globe combining modern-day action sports with time-honored exploration.

Of Souls + Water
From Forge Motion Pictures, makers of the award-winning films Wild Water, Seasons and Cold, comes the groundbreaking web series Of Souls + Water. Filmed in exquisite high definition, five episodes tell the real stories of five character archetypes, all bound together by the common theme of water: The Nomad, The Mother, The Warrior, The Kid and The Elder. Combining artistry, adventure and ethos, Of Souls + Water redefines the genre of outdoor film.

Remain of a River
From October 2011 to January 2012, Will Stauffer-Norris and Zak Podmore hiked and paddled from Wyoming’s Wind River Mountains to Mexico following the Colorado River system from its farthest inland source to the sea, filming and narrating on the fly. The resulting film series, Remains of a River, is an unforgettable story of friendship, adventure and environmental degradation. At turns inspiring and alarming, these ten short works will have you laughing, marveling, shaking your head, and maybe planning an adventure of your own.

Year of the River
In 2011, the United States reached an important and exciting milestone – the removal of over 1,000 dams nationwide. In the Pacific Northwest, major dam removal projects on Washington’s Elwha and White Salmon rivers have become the capstones of the river conservation movement.  In Year of the River, NRS Ambassador Andy Maser – a kayaker, filmmaker, world explorer and environmental advocate – turns his lens on this historic occasion. The result is a beautiful and hopeful tribute to free-flowing water and the people for whom it means everything.
