Fill-in-the-Blank Bio:
I’m not a radical, I’m just a protector of rivers, or at least that’s what my father (said) says. I’ve paddled no less than nine months a year most of my adult life  in Idaho-  paddling wherever I can that is not flooded or frozen. While I mostly kayak I love rafting and inflatable kayaking too, I occasionally fly in or out of remote rivers with my IK, but that doesn’t mean I can’t boof  and surf my IK  too! My favorite wave to surf is Peace Wave, but I also love surfing the Salmon River at Rodeo Hole, Gold Hole, Couch Wave, Mill Wave, Cat’s Paw, Race Creek & at Kelly’s Whitewater Park (KWP).

Years Paddling/Boating:
Boating since I was 3, and paddling with a roll since I turned 16. Now I’m in the over-the-hill club.

Favorite Waters:
Salmon and Owyhee rivers

My mom and anyone who takes a stand to help others

Off-the-Water Activities:
Teaching in the classroom and at KWP, skate skiing, ice hockey, telemark skiing, traveling abroad & raising Labrador retrievers

Why do you Paddle?
Paddling is my guide, my friend, and my passion. Surfing or river running—I just love being on the water.
