About UK

Fill-in-the-Blank Bio:
I’m not always hungry, I’m just always eating, or at least that’s what my (skinny ass) husband says. I’ve scarfed down no less than eighty percent of my (skinny ass)husband’s  “secret stash” snacks in hiding wherever I can find the tasty sons of bitches. While snacking on……oh, just about any-frigging-thing, I occasionally feel like vomiting down my sweatshirt sleeve, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a proud member of the clean plate club too! My favorite fatty-ass snack to gorge myself on is grilled, sweet, pork sausages smothered with cheese, chili, crushed Ruffle brand potato chips and cream sauce, but I also love paddling the (plus-sized) plastic whitewater boats referred to as “kayaks” by less-girthy landlubbers. Did someone say “Lubber?” Mmmm, sounds like “Blubber!”

Hometown:
Readsboro, VT

Years Paddling/Boating:
9

Favorite Waters:
Has to be the Deerfield River in MA/VT. It’s my hometown river and where I learned how to kayak. There’s a bunch of different sections from class II-V. My favorite section runs through my town the West Branch of the Deerfield class IV/V.

Off-the-Water Activities:
I also enjoy sailing, water skiing, snowboarding, xc skiing, and watching lots of football.

Music Rotation:
I have a wide variety of music that I like so here’s a few such as Cake, Pearl Jam, Fleetwood Mac, Ryan Adams, Ice Cube, Florence and the Machines, Beast, 311, Outkast, Ray Lamontagne, and Sarah Mclachlan.

Sponsors:
NRS, Wave Sport, Shred Ready, Zoar Outdoor, Mitchell Paddles, Maui Jim Sunglasses, and Watermans Applied Science

Why do you Paddle?
Paddling is incredible fun, an enduring challenge, and continuously brings me to amazing places that can’t be reached otherwise. The tight-knit paddling community is a huge second family to myself and my husband; I’ve met most of my best friends on the river. And on a super-hot summer day, it beats the hell out of looking for a parking space at the mall!
